Henisee Pottery

FEATURED PROJECT

Henisee Pottery focuses on form, texture and function that derives inspiration from the natural world. Each piece is handcrafted and wood fired in a community wood kiln located in Historic Yellow Springs.

CLIENT REQUEST

Photograph new pieces of pottery that showcased owner Jackie Henisee’s new forms, glazes and sizes. Jackie wanted the new photography to feel fresh, light and all about the texture. These new images would be used to market her upcoming markets and events.

IMAGE DELIVERY

Focusing on the forms and textures, I created a scene where each piece could play off the other - creating interesting intersections during flatlays, adding fruit for scale and creating a light and “early morning” atmosphere with open lighting and soft shadows. Florals were provided and styled by Jackie’s mom, Christine Henisee.

The final imagery feels welcoming and cozy. It asks the viewer to look a little closer.
